The students at Bishop Denis O'Connell High School in Arlington, VA, formed a Medical Missionaries Chapter as part of their commitment to the poor and to community service. Two members of the Chapter work weekly at the Medical Missionaries warehouse in Bristow, VA, sorting supplies and preparing them for shipment to the poor throughout the world.

O'Connell High School Receives 2010 Caring Heart Award
 
 
 
 
Alexa Dantzler accepted the Medical Missionaries 2010 Caring Heart Award on behalf of The O'Connell High School Chapter for their work in helping the poorest of the poor.  he award was presented by Dr. Peter Dirr, member of our Board of Directors, at the Medical Missionaries ‘Caring Hearts’ Ball and Auction held on April 17, 2010.
 
 

O'Connell Chapter presents check to Medical Missionaries' president, Dr. Gilbert Irwin

In response to the earthquake in Haiti (January 12, 2010), the Bishop O'Connell Chapter leadership held a fundraising drive at the school, collecting more than $10,000 for earthquake relief from students and faculty. The O'Connell Chapter also collected hundreds of packets of hygiene products to be sent to Haiti.
